The Priceless Treasure That Cannot Be Saved

The Priceless Treasure That Cannot Be Saved
Luke 12:13-20

I. The Incorrect Assumption

II. The Inescapable Assurance

III. The Important Application

A. It is Time to Awaken from Apathy
• Romans 13:11 – And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed.

B. It is Time to Adjust our Priority
• 1 Corinthians 7:29-30 – But this I say, brethren, the time is short, so that from now on even those who have wives should be as though they had none, those who weep as though they did not weep, those who rejoice as though they did not rejoice, those who buy as though they did not possess.

C. It is Time to Accept His Mercy
• 2 Corinthian 6:2 – For He says: In an acceptable time I have heard you, and in the day of salvation I have helped you.  Behold, now is the accepted time; behold now is the day of salvation.

D. It is Time to Act on Opportunity
• Ephesians 5:15-16 – See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

E. It is Time to Assume our Duty
• James 4:13-15 – Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit”; whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.  Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that.”
